A. Background from the Study

Today, candles are created not only pertaining to lighting reasons but for various other uses such as home décor, novelty choices, as accessories for big events (weddings, baptismals, etc . ), and as fragrant varieties pertaining to aromatherapy. Wax lights are made from different types of waxes and oils.

Preparing food oil is a major kitchen item in Filipino people. It is also used substantially in fast-food shops, where it is used in distinct stages of food arrangements. Ordinarily, used cooking olive oil is removed. This spend oil pollutes and clogs canals and sewerage systems.

In our country today different options are now designed to utilize prevalent things to make products easier and cheaper. In this research study, used cooking food oil is utilized as an alternative pertaining to paraffin polish in candle making.

In the field of Science, this study leads to a lot for the reason that we can find alternative to get paraffin feel as primary component in candle producing, besides paraffin was produced from petroleum and the later is a lot expensive. This kind of study adds knowledge for the researchers as well as the community or in other words of finding an alternative way to use used cooking oil that may pollute and clog canals and sewerage systems if not reused in essential ways, instead of chemically synthesized sources. Additionally, it improves a persons condition literally through minimizing the waste oil that pollutes each of our country.

W. Statement from the Problem

The research aims to create a low-priced, high-quality candle through the use of used preparing food oil as a major aspect. The following candlestick compositions were used: completely paraffin wax; 90 percent paraffin and 10 percent oil; 80 percent paraffin and 20 percent oil; 70 percent paraffin and 30 percent olive oil; 60 percent paraffin and 40 percent oil; fifty percent paraffin and 50 percent oil. The stiffness, texture, and lightweight intensity of the candles were tested and compared.
